This position required me to create a new site from the ground up based on PHP / MySQL. Their current solution was a Microsoft based solution and they wanted to move into the LAMP environment. My largest role was creating http://jobs.ere.net which is a job portal that recruiters can list jobs on. You can see the jobs all plotted nicely on a google maps mash-up. Prior to leaving this company I was working on a method for a single sign-on for their entire network of sites.

VOLUNTEER
St. Johnsbury ECC, St. Johnsbury VT, Site Monitor
January ‘97 - January ‘99
At the Saint Johnsbury ECC I took on the role of a site monitor. My duties included monitoring people who were using 1-5 computers to make sure that the machines were being used efficiently. If someone was playing games and another person needed to do homework, the homework would be allowed. I was also there to help people use programs like Microsoft Office as at that time I had a solid understanding of the suite. This is also where my web development started. I started using AOL Press (WYSIWYG Editor) for doing an HTML website for the ECC. Over time at the ECC my interest in web development progressed.
