Hi Joseph,

I am suffering the same problem only it seemed to start after a Java upgrade. One of our guys is still able to use the IDE as he has not upgrade Java since July.

An strace on the process seemed to show it was continually scanning files within the project in a never ending loop.

Looking forward to hearing if you get this resolved.

I am currently testing eclipse/PDT as an alternative

Matt,

You can also check out my review of the 3 IDE's I tested. EasyEclipse is pretty nice and Komodo is nice, however I had issues with Komodo before. Since they did the Intel update it seems to run fine on my Mac Pro. It does however run slow with the SMB mount I use, eclipse will not run with SMB at all.

Matt,

It seems to me that they do not offer the greatest support. First they have people available for you when you want to hand them money, but when you have the product you have to wait upwards of 24 hours to get your support ticket answered.

If it is a critical issue keeping you from working as was my case yesterday they should have someone in a call center for that. There should be some sort of immediate assistance even if it was online chat like the sales department has.

I had an equally bad experience with Zend trying to get them to give me a license key valid for a newer version of studio - I had a paid up small business license which included support.

If you come up with decent alternatives, I'd love to hear about them. (I used Studio only really to compile for clients who were binary only deliverables; I still prefer vim for my actual editing)

Yoram,

I have sent you the email. What really made me angry were the methods in which they were using to get me to upgrade the support. If it is in fact a bug I do not want to pay you to report it and then have to wait for the fix.

If it is a simple support issue, I will gladly upgrade my Zend.
