I know it's not the same as a traditional college but if you poke around the site you actually do get credits towards continuing education. You also get a certificate from the University of Illinois.

So while you wont gain any college "credits" in a sense they are still worth your time.

I tried the on-line college route with The University of Phoenix, and had a horrible experience. There was an issue with thier news servers, I could not communicate with the class. I tried numerous times to contact the instructor before calling in to tech support and letting them know about the situation. I couldn't do anything and they said they noted my account so that I could take the course again. When it came time for the grades I recieved and F (no surprise there) and I called in to enroll in the next course. They stated that no one noted my account so I had to pay for the course that I failed before I could enroll in the course again.

I told them what I thought and they continued to call me and ask when I would be returning. My answer was always the same. "When you get your act together and stop trying to charge me for a technical failure on your end."

I have not gone back nor will I go back to that school.
