No luck recreating your bug, Joseph.

If you have altered the directory structure, or permissions, of /private/var/tmp/ that might be a cause.

If you reinstall and see the same problem, check the contents of the Console application. I suspect an error message will highlight the root cause. :-)

More information about the Console application and logs files on Mac OS X is available through the link below.

I have uninstalled PowerManager and have yet to re-install it to see if maybe it was a bad install. I plan to test that out tonight and if it still has the issue I will do what you suggest and let you know my findings.

Sorry to hear Power Manager does not appear to be working for you.

The error you are seeing suggests the daemon and user interface elements are not talking properly.

The daemon, which launchctl confirms is running on your Mac, talks to the user interface via a special file. Does the following file exist on your Mac? (Power Manager must be installed)

/var/tmp/uk.co.dssw.powermanager/api

If so, does the command line interface for Power Manager get a response? Try the following command in the Terminal app.

/usr/local/powermanager/bin/powermanagerctl scheduler.enabled

I am interested to know why it should fail for you. We have not seen this problem before, so it would be great to find and fix.

Get in touch if you want to continue - support@dssw.co.uk.

Kind regards,

Thanks for addressing my concerns, I will be downloading a demo and testing it out over the next week or so. I will report my new findings here. I have to admit I am fairly new to the mac platform so I was unaware that the mac can come back from a shut down state.
