People sometimes make me wonder how they survive in life. They make some decisions that go against common sense and they end up getting injured or injuring someone else. Many people wonder why people do the stupid things they do and I think it is all related to how something is portrayed to them. Most of the media tends to add a disclaimer to any advertisements that are not real, or that are dangerous to try.
My step-father was telling me today about a guy who bought a top of the line RV, set cruise control and stepped away to go to the bathroom. Obviously the RV crashed before the guy made it to the bathroom. He sued the company and got millions (I am not sure but I think the commercial may have implied that it was an auto pilot). After seeing the new H3 commercial on TV I started wondering how long it would take before someone attempted the same thing with the H3. If you have not seen the video you can watch it below.
I was watching a video posted on YouTube which was created by CBS. It is a heart warming story of a family who was able to get away from an abusive man. It also shows what can happen when you do everything you can to help others in a time of need.
Santa if you need a website contact me and I will get something together for you. I really like the fact that you are doing this for people who would not be able to do it for themselves. You are truly a hero.
I am a bit surprised. Since I notified the developer of Tubular about the menu bug he quickly issued Beta 3 which resolves that issue. There is still the lingering issue of closing the window and not having a way to re-open the window. It just closes and the application remains in the menubar. You have to exit the application in the file menu and then re-open it.
This is pretty amazing. My friend told me about seeing this video online and I just found it on YouTube. It’s a neat talent but it wont pay the bills. I wonder just how much time the kid had to spend on this to finally master it and get it right every time.
I would just like totake a moment and wish everyone a very happy holliday. I wish for everyone to be safe and have the best time that they can. I look forward to the new year and hope you all have a SAFE New Year, which means don’t drink and drive!
Over the last week I have been very busy at work. I have had no time to take my head out of the code to actually post here. I have been working on a legacy code base and all I can say is what a nightmare it has been.
I know most legacy systems are a nightmare to work with, but someone who was not a PHP developer developed this one. They were primarily a server administrator and this was thrown into their lap and they only had a 2-week deadline. I must say they pulled off a miracle with a 2 week deadline but some of the code is so difficult to work with.
Over the last few months I have been trying to get the PR up on this site. I have links on about 6 websites that have a PR of 5 or better (links that I pay for). I also have many other links from sites linking to my posts here.
What confuses me is why it took me 4 months to even get Google to index my site. Now I still have a PR of 0. I am not sure what is going on or if it really does take this long to get indexed and ranked.
I am now listed in Google after submitting the site, submitting the sitemap and waiting a few months. If you have any tips on how else I can get the PR of this site to go up please feel free to leave a comment.
Over the last week I read that Microsoft copied an Apple icon and posted it on the Microsoft website. Why anyone would do this is beyond me. Did you think it would go unnoticed?
It was bad enough that they used an Apple icon on their website but what I came across today is just unbelievable. Can Microsoft really not come up with their own ideas?
Microsoft has filmed a commercial much like the Get A Mac commercials. This one I guess is meant to be a parody showing that the Zune is supposedly better than the iPod.
I have started to setup a photo gallery that uses Flickr for the photo hosting and allows them to be viewed here on my site. Jump over to the Photo Gallery to see pictures of the kids and the rest of the family.
I am using a plugin for now however in the near future i will either hack this plugin to offer more functionality on my site or write one from scratch.
Tonight my new baby boy was born. Paxton Robert Crawford 8lb 12oz, 19″ long. It has been a long tiresome day so I will make this short. I will be taking a few days off from work to take care of the new baby and my girlfriend. There were complications during delivery so they had to go in and remove the baby. Things will be quite hectic around here for the next few days.
